I know many people will say their air conditioner or furnace is a “life saver” meaning their lives would be worse off without them, but when I say my HVAC unit was my life saver, I mean it in every sense of the phrase.
Last month, I was going about my day when my window air conditioner suddenly stopped working.
Come to find out, the internal motor was completely fried. Although I was annoyed, I was looking forward to getting a new and improved cooling unit. I decided to go with central air conditioning and to put the unit outside my house. After ordering the unit, the HVAC technician came and installed it for me. I had no idea at the time that that unit would save my life the next day. That evening, I got a call from a stranger who threatened my life. I had no idea who the person was so I figured it was a prank call but I figured I’d call the police and let them know what was going on. The next day, I was outside putting a new air filter in my air conditioner when the stalker that called the night before came into my yard and took out a gun and started shooting at me! I took refuge behind the air conditioner pondering my next move. Luckily, a police officer had seen the stalker walk into my yard and saw me working on my air conditioner. The officer shot the stalker and wounded him. Now every time I go to fix or put an air filter in my air conditioner, I thank God that my old window air conditioner had burned out and I had to get a new one.
