When I was a child I was very actively involved outside.
During my childhood I can recall times where I would quickly do my homework and then rush outside and play with six other neighborhood kids. We would play all sorts of games from kickball to hide-and-go-seek. Hide-and-go-seek was one of my favorite games. We played in such a large group and it turned out to be very competitive, that’s why it was one of my favorites. I had the best hiding places, there was a secret latch door that would be hidden behind the bushes of my house. It was located right near the electrical gas meter that read our family’s electric and gas energy use. When I was young I had no idea what it was. I always thought that the meter was for decoration and was something that was always on the side of a house. As I grew older and had a home of my own, I realized that glancing at this meter was important. The electric on these meters is measured through kilowatts. This will allow me to see how much electricity I am using monthly since I mostly use my electricity for my HVAC system and lighting purposes. I have always been told that it’s important to read the meters from right to left. I like keeping track of my electricity usage as it allows me to see if I’m using my HVAC system too much. Sometimes I leave my HVAC system on when it does not even need to be running.
